Sony Xperia Next Year Will Upgrade to Android OS

LONDON - Sony Ericsson reaffirms that it will begin upgrading smart phone Xperia its 2011 to Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS), in March or early April to come.

Sony, which is conducting a gradual roll-out for several weeks, said the first smartphone to get the upgrade is the Arc's Xperia, Xperia and Xperia Neo V Ray.

Proclaimed eWeek, Friday (23/12/2011), in late April and early May, the company will bring the ICS for the Xperia Arc, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini and Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active.

Xperia smartphone owners will receive notification by phone, asking them to download the software via 3G or WiFi. Users can also connect the Xperia phone to a computer and downloading the software via a PC.

The developers have made Sony Xperia software can work with ICS, since Google did to the open source code, the last month. In short, they tested the code to ensure compatibility and debugging process.

Sony is just one of the few vendors, which has issued information regarding their plans to upgrade to the ICS. Samsung, the Galaxy Nexus it is the first handset equipped with ICS, revealed their plan update in 2012, but the news about this is not as clear as Sony plans.
